Brighton Plastic Surgery referrals

All patients (including those seeking cosmetic surgery), require a valid referral
(preferably from their usual general practitioner) before an appointment can be made.

For Patients

Please email referrals to jacqui@plasticsurgeryaustralia.com or kristin@plasticsurgeryaustralia.com. Alternatively, you are welcome to fax on 03 9592 0522 or drop in and see us at 206 New Street Brighton.

For Doctors

Doctors are welcome to contact Dr Mutimer, Dr Shayan, Dr Shukla and Dr Capstick anytime to discuss patients, or for urgent referrals who will be seen promptly.

Surgery

Patients who have surgery with us go to Cabrini Brighton Hospital which is located directly opposite Brighton Plastic Surgery, Holmesglen Private Hospital, located close by in South Road Moorabbin or Linacre Private Hospital, located close by in Linacre Road Hampton.

Anaesthesia

Our surgeons only work with fully qualified specialist anaesthetists who are experienced in plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures. Before your procedure your anaesthetist will visit you to answer any questions you may have and to examine you and ask you about your medical history.

Any anaesthetic carries risks. However, in the hands of qualified specialist anaesthetists these are minimised. Serious complications are not common and post operation side effects such as nausea are controlled.

During a general anaesthetic a patient is comfortably asleep. Smaller procedures can be performed under local anaesthetic with or without sedation. Your anaesthetist will explain their preference and discuss this with you.

Preparing for an upcoming procedure can be a little daunting however there is a lot you can do to make this a smooth and stress free time.
