Fat Injections / Face
Fat injection, known as "autologous fat transplantation" is a procedure by which fat is harvested from one part of a patient's body and injected back into other areas. It is used to replace volume that has been lost with ageing and help create a better balanced and more youthful look to the face.
Fat may be taken from the thighs or buttocks and used to fill in deep wrinkles and creases or to plump thin lips and cheeks. Fat injections can also enhance a particular feature, such as an underdeveloped jawline. Fat injection can be performed as part of a facelift or upper lid procedure, and the results can be seen immediately.
The results of fat injections usually vary from patient to patient. Patients often find that half the initial fullness disappears within three to six months after treatment. So, further treatments may be necessary to maintain the results.
