Eyelid Cosmetic Surgery (Blephroplasty)
Eyelid Surgery
One of the main reasons a middle-aged face appears old and tired, is excess fat and wrinkled, drooping skin on the upper eyelids. Cosmetic or aesthetic eyelid surgery, called "blepharoplasty" gets rid of this excess skin from the upper lids and eliminates bags under the eyes. It also tightens the lower eyelid skin to bring freshness and life back to the eyes and a brighter, more alert and rested general appearance.
Mr Mutimer also performs reconstructive eye surgery and corrective eyelid surgery for people with inherited conditions, for example where excess skin obscures the natural fold of the upper eyelids, loose skin from the upper eyelids affects vision, or where lower eyelid are sagging or malpositioned.
Eyelid surgery can be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, chemical peeling to smooth crow's feet, or laser resurfacing. Circles beneath the eyes caused by dark pigmentation may be treated with a bleaching solution or chemical peel.
