Breast Lift

Considering a breast lift

Breast lift surgery, called "mastopexy" lifts, firms and reshapes the breast without increasing actual breast size or weight. Loss of skin elasticity, gravity and other factors such as weight loss, pregnancy and breast-feeding ultimately affect the shape and firmness of the breasts. Where a woman has lost a significant amount of breast volume over time, implants may be inserted in conjunction with a breast lift to increase fullness.

Mr Mutimer also performs nipple correction surgery. In cases where nipples and areolas (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipples) point downward, the nipples and areolas can be repositioned. He can also correct unevenly sized breasts and irregular breast shapes.

A breast lift can be performed at any age, but Mr Mutimer recommends waiting until breast development has stopped. Pregnancy and breast-feeding may have significant and unpredictable effects on the size and shape of the breasts. Since the milk ducts and nipples are left intact, breast lift surgery usually will not affect your ability to breast-feed.
