About Facial Implants

Facial implants are used to renew and enhance facial contours, achieve a better balance to facial features and restore a more youthful appearance. The two main types of surgery Mr Mutimer performs are cheek implants or a chin implant.

Cheek Implants

Cheek implants are used to build up areas that appear "sunken" due to the ageing process or to enhance the contours of the face. Mr Mutimer uses soft, flexible silicone cheek implants which are attached to the cheek bone and are able to be contoured to a natural imperceptible result. Cheek implants offer a permanent solution to a sunken mid face and to people with lack of facial curves. These implants come in various sizes so Mr Mutimer can tailor them to patient’s individual needs.

Chin Implant

A common reason to undergo a chin implant is to improve one's facial profile by creating a better balance between the chin and other facial features. A chin implant can also be beneficial to assist in balancing out a larger nose. A chin implant offers a permanent solution for people with a "weak / small chin" and will give more shape to the jaw line. Chin implant surgery is popular with both men and women.

Your Consultation

Initial consultation: Your initial consultation with Dr Mutimer will last approx. 30 min. Mr Mutimer will discuss your procedure in detail and the technique to be used. You will see sample implants and photos will be taken. Depending on the surgery complimentary 3D scanning may be performed, with simulated images emailed to you within several days. 3D scanning allows you to better understand what the proposed changes to your chin may look like. At your initial consult you will also meet our Patient Advisor who will take you through costs and discuss potential dates for your surgery.

Pre-operative appointment: 2 weeks prior to your procedure you will meet Mr Mutimer for a final consultation and to finalise your implant/s.
