Sclerotherapy

Brighton Plastic Surgery Centre is excited to offer a new innovative procedure for the treatment of spider veins. A specialist sclerotherapist, Member of The Australian College of Phlebology, The Australian College of Phlebology has joined our team for this exciting new clinic.

What are Spider Veins?

Spider veins or telangectasias are small, thin blood vessels that lie close to the surface of the skin and appear red or blue. These small, enlarged blood vessels may be short, unconnected lines or may be connected in a spider web or cluster pattern. Spider veins can cover a large area of skin and be quite unattractive. They are most common in the thighs, ankles and feet.
Spider veins can occur in men or women of any age but most frequently affect women of childbearing age and older. Family history of the problem and aging increase ones tendency to develop spider veins.

What causes Spider veins?

The causes of varicose veins are not entirely understood. In some instances, the absence or weakness of valves in the veins, which prevent backward flow of the blood away from the heart, may cause pooling of the blood. Spider veins cannot be removed through surgery. Spider veins are treated with Sclerotherapy.

What is Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy uses a fine needle to inject a solution directly into the vein. This solution irritates the lining of the vein, causing collapse of the inner lining and ultimately the vein. The vein turns into scar tissue that fades from view. At your consultation all possible complications which can occur post your sclerotherapy treatment will be explained.

A New Innovation in Facial Sculpting
Micro-Anti-Wrinkle Reduction Treatment

What is Micro-Anti-Wrinke Reduction Treatment

Micro-Anti-Wrinkle Reduction is very small doses of botox distributed superficially all over the face (ie:brow/forehead/cheeks).This is a painless procedure and the needles used are of a very fine calibre. The areas where injections are placed firstly are pre-treated with ice to the areas. This procedure can be performed with your normal anti-wrinkle reduction injections which are usually placed in the crows feet area or glabella (between the brow). The injections that are placed in the cheek area help give your facial appearance "a more slimlined, youthful appearance". The injections placed around the forehead/brow area give a "browlift" appearance.

A new approach to upper facial rejuvenation

Endotine Transbleph Procedure

The procedure that is suited to men, especially bald men and women with high foreheads or who are thinning at the front hair line.

No incisions and only one scar placed at the upper eyelid in its natural crease.

With the transbleph endotine procedure a browlift is performed through an upper eyelid incision used whilst performing upper blepharoplasty. A bioabsorbable implant is inserted helping clients to once again have a youthful, refreshed look. With this procedure only one incision is required through the upper eyelids natural crease.

Necklift

A neck lift procedure is intended to produce a more youthful appearing neck with better contour. You may desire a neck lift if you have skin folds or a "turkey waddle". This procedure corrects the loose neck muscles. The surgeon makes incisions under your chin and or / before your ears to access the platysma and manipulate it accordingly.

Fat is suctioned or excised, muscles may be tightened and skin may be removed. The patient will then go home with their chin and neck wrapped in a sling. Initial discomfort is controlled with oral medication. Swelling and bruising disappear over approximately 2 weeks.

Breast Shaped Implants/SAMBA

The SAMBA procedure is intended to lift small breastrs that sag. SAMBA stands for Simultaneous Areola Mastoepexy Augmentation. This is  a breast lift at the same time as a breast enlargement. SAMBA differs that you only have around the areola (the pigmented skin around the nipple.) There is no scar from the areola to the crease under the breast.

The breast is enlarged with an implant and the breast skin is tightened with removal of skin around the areola. The skin is drawn together like a purse string around the new areola, which has usually been reduced in size.

Fat injections - face

Fat injections, also known as autologous fat transplantation, is a procudure where fat is harvested from one's own body and injected back into other various areas. For some cosmetic procedures, adding fat can actually help enhance one's appearance. Fat injections are best used for filling in deep wrinkles and creases, plumping up creased and sunken areas, adding fullness to the lips and cheeks and creaing a better balance to one's facial appearance.

The results of fat injections usually vary from patient to patient. Most patients experience half of the fullness disappearing within three to six months after treatment. In order to maintain results further treatments may be necessary.

Do you suffer from excessive sweating?

Now there is a solution

Do you suffer from excessive sweating commonly known as "hyperhidrosis" by doctors? You can now have injections to reduce the sweating dramatically to help aid in embarrassment and also cost (ie:the cost of buying new clothes, drycleaning, expensive deodorants). Common areas for sweating are underarms, hands or feet. We have a product that targets the source where you sweat, it is then injected into specific glands. This procedure is quick and relatively pain-free (often described as like a "pin-prick"). Mr.Mutimer himself inject the product and thoroughly explains the procedure and how it will take effect. If you have any questions you would like to ask about this procedure and its costs please do not hesitate to contact the office and speak to one our staff members by calling (03) 9592 0522.

Chin / Cheek / Facial implants

Facial implants are used to enhance facial contours and to bring better balance to the face.

Implants may be used to fill out a face that appears "sunken". This will provide a more harmonious balance to your face and features so that you feel better about the way you look.
